Occupational Doctor - Physician (part-time contractor)

Cataño, Puerto Rico

Summary:
The Occupational Doctor or Occupational Medicine Physician will be an independent contractor for CIS International providing direct services to one of our manufacturing customer.  The work location will be the Health Center of this client supporting medical activities related to their Occupational Health and Safety Program.  This person will need to be a proactive, responsible, and on track professional committed to improve the program and exceed customer expectations.  Population to be served includes employees, contractors, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of this resource will be:

1.  Perform a wide range of evaluations and tests to identify medical conditions, assess fitness for work, and detect workplace hazards, preventing accidents and illnesses. That will ensure worker protection and regulatory compliance, optimize productivity and reduce costs in the long term.

  • Medical Evaluations

    • Pre-employment medical exams

    • Periodic health surveillance

    • Return-to-work evaluations

    • Fitness-for-duty exams

    • Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

  • Diagnostic and Functional Tests

    • Pulmonary function tests (PFTs)

    • Audiometry (hearing tests)

    • Vision screening

    • Chest X-rays

    • Blood and urine tests

    • Drug and alcohol screening

  • Cognitive and Psychological Assessments

    • Neurocognitive testing

    • Psychiatric evaluation

    • Sleep studies

  • Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)

    • Measure strength, endurance, range of motion, and ability to perform job-specific tasks.  Often used in rehabilitation, disability claims or return to work planning.

  • Specialized Regulatory Exams

    • OSHA-mandated exams for respirator use, HAZMAT workers, or confined space entry

    • DOT physicals for commercial drivers

    • HAZMAT medical surveillance

2.  Document evaluations using defined tools and protocols.
3.  Report progress and constraints.
4.  Participate in initiatives of education / orientation about this service, visit working areas, integrate with the company community.
5.  Other related activities.


Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in medicine

  • Active license to bring services in Puerto Rico.


Work Methodology:

  • Professional services contract

  • Part-Time Basis:  12-16 fixed hours during the Week (Monday to Friday) - Administrative shift  +  On call basis during the weekend (Saturday-Sunday)

  • On site job in Cataño, PR

  • Contracts will be renewed each 6 to 12 months based on performance
