Associate Mfg Systems (PLC & Vision System)

Description:

In a Full Automation role, Under close supervision, assists with or directly provides technical engineering support in process optimization strategies, upgrades, replacements, and modifications in the operations, manufacturing or pilot plant environment. Ensures that all operations are accomplished in a safety and compliant manner consistent with current corporate policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Functions:
  • Perform standard engineering work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Complete routine technical tasks
  • Prompt and regular attendance to workplace.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
Operations Engineering:
  • On a daily basis, monitor operations of a unit operation or system and actively assist operations, maintenance or project personnel as required.
  • Routinely audit the operational performance and regulatory compliance of a limited number of equipment items or systems of minor to moderate complexity.
  • Routinely troubleshoot operational issues with individual equipment or skids.
  • Assist with the proposal, initiation, testing and implementation of proposed changes to process, utility and/or facility systems.
  • Assist more senior engineers in the evaluation and implementation of engineering improvements, policy changes, compliance improvements and optimization programs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all systems, electrical and mechanical.
  • Ability to learn, install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo eyes, motor starts, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids and frequency inverters.
  • PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)Providing ongoing plant support including trouble shooting and new function development. Acting as a technical resource to plant personnel.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / or Engineering Technology completed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PLC/ Allan Bradley / Vision System / NExperience
  • Electronic Engineering Technology,
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes.
  • Familiarity with validation processes.
  • Familiarity with documentation in a highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers as appropriate.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to interpret and apply GLPs and GMPs.
  • Ability to apply engineering science to production.
  • Able to develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
  • Demonstrated skills in the following areas:
    • Problem solving and applied engineering.
    • Basic technical report writing.
    • Basic technical presentations.
    • Computer Literacy.
    • Enjoy technical and engineering activities
    • Good communication skills.
    • Able to work as part of a team.
    • Interested in mathematics, physics and mechanical equipment, such as robotic and production equipment.
Work Methodology:
  • 100%-On Site
  • 12 months (1st Contract)
  • 12hrs Night Shift (5:00 pm to 5:00 am)
  • Professional Service Contract
