Junior Quality Technician (Regular employment)

Cayey, Puerto Rico

Summary:
The Junior Quality Technician will perform visual and dimensional inspection of molded components and/or sub-assemblies following the quality plan or component specification, functional testing,  and document audit for a contract manufacturing industry in Cayey-Puerto Rico.  This opportunity is a regular employment (direct hire).

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs and documents inspection as the result of production quality plan, including cosmetic, dimensional, and functional inspection.
  2. determines product / process acceptability based on sampling results.
  3. Identifies and segregate of non-conforming product to avoid mixes and errors.
  4. Responsible to control and release Product in Quality Hold
  5. Responsible for the reconciliation of labels and release of product in quality hold once the report these issues.
  6. Responsible for the verbal and written report to the supervisor for each defect found in a product.
  7. Performs start-up and process as required following Jabil documented procedures.
  8. Authorizes to reject lots, accept conforming materials and to identify or segregate non-conforming materials and fill reports.
  9. Verify the correct identification for the resin used, mold preventive maintenance status, operator inspection documentation, and cleaning conditions in the assembly operation.
  10. Verify the correctness and neatness of documents and forms being to record inspections performed using Good Documentation Practices.
  11. Responsible to communicate with the next shift Technician, regarding any important issue that occurred in the station, with the product, quality, etc.
  12. Observes all company rules, regulations, and procedures such as safety and housekeeping (6´S).
  13. Expedites records and reports to customers.
  14. Maintains all product Lot History Records.
  15. Maintains working area clean, organized, and safe.
  16. Verify the accuracy of all records and reports.
  17. Assures compliance to Good Documentation Practices of history file (GMP).
  18. Conduct audit of material at staging areas, process and/or parameters attributes if it is necessary or requested.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Science related field is preferred
  • OR Two (2) years of College School
  • OR Two (2) years of experience in related Quality area.
  • One (1) year of experience will be validated as one year of college education if incumbent have basic knowledge of computer use and statistics.
Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of Mathematics, Statistical and Drawing Reading/Interpretation.
  • Knowledge of use of measuring/inspection equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Pressure Gauges, Indicators, OGP, CMM, etc.)
  • Personal computer skills,
  • GMP knowledge,
  • Read and understand English
  • SAP System knowledge is a plus

Physical Demand:

  • Sharp Vision 20/20 - corrected vision
  • Cannot be color blind
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying objects weighting less than 55 pounds
  • Works standing most of the time - frequent
  • Exposures to fumes and odors - occasional
  • Noise exposure - occasional

Work Methodology:

  • Regular employment opportunity (direct hire)

  • Work Shifts: Monday to Friday 11pm to 7am; Friday to Sunday 7am to 7pm and Friday to Sunday 7pm to 7am
  • Type of contract:  W2 Non-Exempt with Overtime and Shift Differential
  • Base Pay Rate per hour: $12.58
